We invite you to celebrate America’s 250th birthday this summer by joining our Community Compassion Campaign!
As our community continues to face financial hardship, we ask you to consider participating in the United for Our Neighbors Community Compassion Campaign.
Within our Shively community, many families are struggling under the weight of rising costs of basic living:
- Rent prices continue to climb, and affordable housing is growing scarce
- Grocery and gas prices remain high – up about 8% this year alone
- LG&E and water bills continue increasing due to restricted energy resources
- Wages are not keeping pace with the true cost of living
Our Community Compassion Campaign will help support:
- Emergency rent and utility assistance
- Food pantry support
- Assistance for grandparents and relatives raising children
- Crisis support and compassionate care for vulnerable neighbors
- Flexible operational support to stabilize families in need

In-Kind Donations
SAM often needs necessities other than cash. These can range from personal care items and canned goods to durable medical equipment. To donate personal care or food items, please get in touch with Joe Nevitt at 502-447-4330 ext. 127 or email him at joe@shivelyarea.org.
